What the PuduBot 2 is

PuduBot 2 is a 1290 mm tall delivery robot with a footprint of 580 by 535 mm and a weight of 37 kg. Its whole personality is capacity: three removable trays by default, adjustable in spacing, expandable to seven, each 520 by 435 mm, for a total load of 40 kg. That is a room service run, a floor's worth of amenities, a rack of dishes back to the pot wash, or a supply round for a wing of resident rooms, on one trip.

It is built for the operation where delivery is logistics rather than theater. Nobody needs it to be charming. They need it to carry a lot, run all day, and not need babysitting, and those are the three things it does.

Trays, capacity, and the shape of a shift

The seven tray configuration is the reason to look at this machine over anything else in the range. A multi stop route is limited by how much you can load at the start, and seven trays means one loading at the kitchen or the store room feeds a whole corridor of drops. Tray spacing adjusts, so tall items and flat plates share a stack, and the trays lift out for cleaning.

Battery life is quoted at 10 to 24 hours depending on how hard it works, with a three hour charge. In practice that means it covers a breakfast service, a lunch run, and the afternoon amenity round without a break, and charges itself overnight. Navigation that survives a busy floor

PuduBot 2 maps with PUDU's VSLAM+ fused with dual LiDAR and 360 degree sensing, and it needs no markers, stickers, or ceiling tags. PUDU quotes marker free mapping as cutting deployment time by around 75 percent, and our experience of that is that the mapping walk is the short part of the job. It maps venues up to 40,000 square meters with ceilings to 30 m, which covers a resort lobby and a hospital atrium comfortably.

The 360 degree sensing is what makes it usable in a corridor full of carts, residents with walkers, and staff crossing at speed. It slows, waits, and routes around, and it does that all day without complaint.

Hotels: room service without the show

In a hotel the PuduBot 2 does two things. It runs room service and amenity deliveries from the kitchen or the store room to the floors, and it takes the fetching off the front desk, who otherwise field the "can someone bring up" calls and then find someone to do it. Senior living: taking the running off the care team

In a senior living community the calculation is different. The people doing the fetching are nurses and aides whose time is the most expensive and most stretched in the building, and every trip to the kitchen or the supply room is a minute away from a resident. PuduBot 2 takes meal trays, linens, and supplies on the round so the care team stays where they are needed. Because it is unremarkable to look at, residents accept it quickly; it is a cart that drives, not a character.

Elevators and multi floor realities

Multi floor delivery is where honest expectations matter. A robot rides an elevator only when the building's elevator is integrated with it, which is an add on and a conversation with the elevator company, not a switch on the robot. Where that integration is in place the PuduBot 2 calls the car, boards, and gets off on the right floor on its own. Where it is not, it works one floor at a time, and a hotel with a service elevator it can be given priority on is the ideal case. Where BellaBot Pro is the better fit

If the delivery is part of the guest experience, buy the BellaBot Pro instead. In a dining room, a casino floor, or a lobby where guests are meant to notice the robot, the BellaBot Pro's expressive display, ambient tray lighting, dish announcements, and greeting behaviors are the product. The PuduBot 2 does none of that, and in those settings its plainness is a weakness rather than a virtue.

What it does not do

It does not carry heavy loads. Forty kilograms total is a stack of plates and drinks or a round of supplies, not a linen cart. For that, look at the transport robots.
